Inter striker Lautaro Martinez suffered a slight thigh strain in yesterday’s Serie A clash with Roma, and he will have his condition further assessed tomorrow.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that tests today confirmed the nature of the injury, and that further ones tomorrow will shed more light on the seriousness of the problem.

Martinez felt some discomfort in his thigh flexor at the end of yesterday’s match against Roma, and the club’s medical staff today confirmed the presence of a slight thigh strain.

The issue is not that serious and more of muscular fatigue than anything, but it could still be enough to cause the Argentine to at least miss out on Tuesday’s Champions League clash with Barcelona.

Given that coach Simone Inzaghi will already be without Romelu Lukaku in attack, he will not want to lose Martinez for that match.

Further tests tomorrow should give a better sense of when Martinez will be able to return and his status for the Barcelona match.
