Inter are unlikely to start striker Lautaro Martinez against Barcelona tomorrow in order to not risk his fitness for the important matches to come.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that the 25-year-old will not likely start so as to not make his thigh problem worse given the amount of important matches on the way before the World Cup.

Martinez picked up a thigh strain after the Nerazzurri’s Serie A clash with Roma over the weekend, which does not look to be too serious of a problem but which should still see him feeling some discomfort for tomorrow’s Champions League clash.

Missing out on the Argentine for the upcoming matches after tomorrow in the league and the Champions League would be a serious problem.

Accordingly, the feeling is that the best thing will be to take no risks with Martinez’s fitness, as further injury could not be ruled out if he starts against the Blaugranas.
