Inter will contact the representatives of defender Milan Skriniar after the away match against Barcelona in the Champions League next week.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, who report that the Nerazzurri have decided on the period after next Wednesday’s match to get the ball rolling regarding contract talks with the Slovakian.

So far Inter have not taken any serious steps towards starting formal talks with Skriniar and his representatives regarding extending his contract, which expires at the end of June 2023.

However, it is certainly the club’s intention to try and agree a new deal with the 27-year-old.

No contacts were made with Skriniar’s representatives during the international break, but it looks as though next week will be the period in which the club will commence the talks.

Inter will be hoping that they can swiftly agree a new deal with the Slovakian so as to avoid the risk of losing him on a free transfer next summer.
