Italian journalist Mario Sconcerti has said that Inter looked like a team back together again during the win over Barcelona on Tuesday, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media today.
Speaking whilst on TMW Radio, via FCInternews, Mario Sconcerti explained that it is a win that should keep Inter players alert whilst knowing that the job in the Champions League is not done yet.
“It’s a success that keeps Inter awake. To turn around we still have to go ahead and see the result of the next game against Barcelona.”
He then added that they looked like a team who have come back together, hinting at the disjointed nature of their play in recent weeks.
“I saw an Inter side that came back together. Inzaghi’s team played the match they had to play, intense and at times embarrassing Barcelona.”
Inter won the game thanks to a strike from range in the first half from Turkish midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu.
The goal sparked wild celebrations as everyone at San Siro knew how important it was to get all three points in this match.
Inter now sit second in their Champions League group, three points ahead of Barcelona with three games left.
