Andre Onana is close to displacing Samir Handanovic as the number one goalkeeper at Inter and he may start the game against Sassuolo at the weekend, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As has been reported by Corriere dello Sport, the Cameroonian may be showing enough to force Simone Inzaghi to make a decision.

When he joined the club, there was no official hierarchy in goal established and they have been alternating in Serie A and the Champions League.

Simone Inzaghi could now be set to start the former Ajax man in Saturday afternoon’s match against Sassuolo.

That would represent a big shift, especially if he then also started the Barcelona match next week as he has started all the other Champions League matches.

Many have speculated as to when the change would take place in goal and now it seems that it could be very close.
