Inter striker Lautaro Martinez has said that his work with Inter helps him to play so well for the Argentina national team, according to a report in the Argentinian broadcast media.

Speaking during a World Cup preview show on Argentinian TV channel Star+, via FCInternews, Lautaro Martinez spoke glowingly about what he is learning with Inter.

He has been in superb form for his national team in recent weeks and months and it is thought that he could be a major protagonist at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

He was talking about how much he enjoys playing for Lionel Scaloni and he mentioned that he knows his work with Inter is helping him to get to the World Cup as a key player.

“Very grateful to him because he has always trusted me. The national team has great players, great strikers and every day is a test.

“I know that working with Inter is what will take me there.

“Then, in the little time we have, we try to be good, to concentrate, to do what the coach wants.

“He supported me when I wasn’t scoring goals and we talked a lot, he respected me and spurred me on. For this I am always grateful.”

Lautaro Martinez is known to have a good relationship with former Inter striker Diego Milito and he confirmed that by talking about his debut for Racing Club.

“On my debut at Racing I had to replace Milito. I have a good relationship with him, every time he comes we see each other, we have dinner together. He gave me a lot of advice, I will always be grateful to him.”
