Former Inter defender Marco Andreolli feels that the team approached their match against Sassuolo this afternoon very well.

Speaking to InterTV after the 2-1 Serie A win, Andreolli praised the Nerazzurri’s performance, and also noted the importance of the second half substitutions.

Inter did not exactly have their best match of the season against the Neroverdi, but they did what they had to do against an opponent who can cause problems for any team.

A defensively strong performance was marked with two goals from Edin Dzeko to make sure that the Nerazzurri took home all three points even despite Neroverdi midfielder Davide Frattesi taking advantage of a defensive mix-up in the second half.

For Andreolli’s part, the former defender liked what he saw from the team at the Mapei Stadium.

Andreolli stated that “What counts is the result, creating continuity after Tuesday’s performance and the first half against Roma.”

He continued that “We said it would be a complicated match, after a match in which the team had expended a lot, but Inter took the pitch with the right attitude, with the desire to suffer.”

Andreolli then analyzed the second half, noting that “The changes gave the team a boost, when the game got stretched Mkhitaryan played some excellent balls, including his assist for Dzeko.”
