Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi is set to make several changes to the starting lineup to face Sassuolo this evening.
This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that the coach will significantly rotate the eleven for the Serie A clash in view of the team’s match against Barcelona on Wednesday.
This afternoon’s match against Sassuolo is sandwiched between two massive Champions League clashes with Barcelona.
The Nerazzurri got a vital win in the first match against the Blaugranas, but will be under no illusions that the next one away in Catalonia will be anything but a massive test.
Accordingly, the coach should rest some players this evening in view of that match.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan should drop out of the eleven that faced Barcelona on Tuesday, with Hakan Calhanoglu moving to a mezzala position with Kristjan Asllani playing in the deepest role of the central trio.
Meanwhile, Denzel Dumfries is set to take the place of Matteo Darmian on the right.
In defense, Francesco Acerbi is set to start over Stefan de Vrij, whilst Edin Dzeko will start alongside Lautaro Martinez in attack.
