Inter defender Danilo D’Ambrosio feels that it is vital that the team not let their levels drop as they defend their advantage against Sassuolo.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster DAZN ahead of the second half of this afternoon’s Serie A clash with the Neroverdi, the 34-year-old emphasized maintaining the team’s competitiveness.

Inter took the lead late on in the first half of this afternoon’s match, with Edin Dzeko turning home from close range.

The 1-0 advantage sees the Nerazzurri on track, but there is still a long way to go with the slenderest of advantages.

Three points from this match is all but necessary for Inter, and the team will have to work hard in order to see out their lead.

D’Ambrosio spoke briefly about how the team will have to approach the second half if they’re to maintain their advantage.

“To maintain our advantage we’ll need a cutting edge, competitive spirit and concentration,” the defender stressed.

“You just have to look at the last thirty seconds – we let our concentration drop and then Onana was forced into a save,” he noted.

Inter are hoping to win this afternoon so that they can begin gaining ground at the top end of the Serie A table.
