Inter captain Samir Handanovic is likely to start in this afternoon’s Serie A clash with Sassuolo.
This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the 37-year-old is still favourite to retain his place in goal ahead of the competition of Andre Onana.
So far Handanovic has started every one of Inter’s matches in Serie A this season, whilst Onana has been trusted in the Champions League.
The Cameroonian’s strong performances in Europe have suggested that he could soon overtake Handanovic to start in the league as well, but the captain will retain his place this afternoon at least.
Meanwhile, the Corriere also predict that midfielder Kristjan Asllani will be back into the lineup after making his first Serie A start against Roma last weekend.
The Corriere’s complete predicted eleven is as follows:
Inter (3-5-2): Handanovic; Skriniar, Acerbi, Bastoni; Dumfries, Barella, Asllani, Calhanoglu, Dimarco; Dzeko, Lautaro.
