Former Inter midfielder Stephane Dalmat feels that the Nerazzurri have gotten their confidence back, and is happy for the players.

Speaking on his Instagram profile, as reported by FCInterNews, the Frenchman singled out Andre Onana and Edin Dzeko as players who like to be in good form.

Inter had looked like they were struggling mentally for long portions of the start of their season.

Four losses from eight in Serie A, and five from ten in all competitions, was not at all the start that the team had expected, and looked to be eating away at the team’s confidence.

However, in the last two matches against Barcelona and Sassuolo a different Inter has been seen.

Dalmat praised the players not just for their technical quality, but also for the attitude that they showed to put in the performances that they did in such tough circumstances and after a difficult few weeks.

“Yesterday we won a normal match, against a team that isn’t all that strong,” he said of Inter’s win over Sassuolo.

“However, after a Champions League match it’s always difficult to get a result in the league.”

“Inter did just that, the team has shown a lot of character and has regained their confidence,” he continued.

Dalmat stated that “I’m happy for Edin Dzeko who scored twice, and for Andre Onana who started.”

“It wasn’t a great game but Inter did their jobs,” the Frenchman continued, “showing that the victory against Barca has given them confidence.”
