The only thing for Inter coach to do with the out-of-form striker Lautaro Martinez is to continue to wait patiently for the goals to come.
This is the view in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who argue that the coach’s best course of action is to keep the faith with Martinez whilst the 25-year-old endures a goal drought.
Martinez made it eight matches in all competitions in which he has failed to find the back of the net with his display against Sassuolo yesterday.
After the match, Inzaghi remarked that he would be worried if the Argentine’s performance levels had been dropping on the pitch, but that as far as not scoring goals, he is less worried.
The coach needs Martinez to start finding his shooting boots on a consistent basis if Inter are have the best chance of winning trophies this season.
However, this is hardly something that Inzaghi can force, and the only thing for the coach to do is to keep hoping for the striker to get into goalscoring positions and then finally start getting them on target.
