Inter striker Romelu Lukaku is getting closer and closer to returning to full training along with the rest of the squad.

This according to Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it, who report that there is still some hope that the Belgian could be ready to be part of the squad for Wednesday’s Champions League clash with Barcelona.

Lukaku’s return has been postponed a few times already as the priority has been to take zero chances with the 29-year-old’s fitness.

However, with each passing day of his recovery, the Belgian gets closer to fully putting his difficult thigh strain behind him.

It is not exactly clear when the 29-year-old will be able to return to the group for full training, but the sense that it is now no more than a few days away.

Wednesday’s match against Barcelona would be a fairly optimistic target for Lukaku to return in, but the team have not fully ruled out his inclusion in the matchday squad.
