Former Inter defender Daniele Adani feels that this Nerazzurri side still have a ways to go before they still prove themselves as one of Serie A’s best teams for the season.

Speaking on Christian Vieri’s Twitch channel, via FCInterNews, Adani argued that at this stage the Nerazzurri have still not proven that they are a team capable of fighting for the Scudetto.

Inter look to have gone some way towards steadying their season after an early run of poor form by beating Barcelona and Sassuolo.

However, there is still no getting around the fact that the team gave themselves plenty of ground to make up with the points that they dropped in Serie A early on in the season.

Moreover, the early form came because the team showed numerous cracks, particularly defensively and in terms of balance and compactness on the pitch and concentration.

Adani argued that “Inter  don’t have the credentials to be in the top couple places in the table at the moment.”

“A team like this can always win, but they’re not where they need to be if Sassuolo are penning the back.”

He noted that “They only had chances on the counter. Inter need to grow a lot.”

Of the Neroverdi’s goal in that match, Adani analyzed that “Skriniar made the error because he didn’t track the fullback, Acerbi was in good position but Bastoni had to mark the striker.”

“Inter in general is not such a credible team to deserve the first two places in the standings at the moment – his words -. A team like this can always win, but it’s not the right value if Sassuolo puts you down. It has only had chances when he restarted. Inter need to grow a lot. Sassuolo’s goal? Skriniar made the mistake because he didn’t take the full-back, Acerbi was in good shape but Bastoni had to take the striker. Dimarco sees Frattesi, he was his. But it’s the first time that he scores like this, they have to work on this.

He continued that “Dimarco sees Frattesi, that was his man.”
