Inter could decide to sell defender Milan Skriniar to Paris Saint-Germain for a fee of around €20-25 million in January if they are unable to extend his contract before then.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that the Nerazzurri would consider a sale at a reduced price in order to avoid losing the Slovakian for free next summer.

Inter are set to start up contract extension talks with Skriniar and his representatives seriously in the very near future.

The first meeting is planned for shortly after tomorrow’s Champions League group stage match against Barcelona.

The club’s hope is that they can get an agreement on a new deal wrapped up very soon so that the 27-year-old’s future is secured long before the January transfer window.

However, if the situation remains outstanding after the World Cup, the Nerazzurri will know that they risk losing Skriniar on a free transfer when his contract runs out at the end of June 2023.

Accordingly, the club could decide that it would be better to sacrifice him for a fee in January at that point.
