Inter defender Stefan de Vrij feels some frustration with the fact that the club have not formally offered him a new contract up to this point.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the 30-year-old is annoyed that his situation has been allowed to drag on and remain uncertain as long as it has.

Inter had been close to offering de Vrij a new deal earlier this year, and he had certainly expected some clarity regarding his situation by this summer.

However, the summer transfer window came in went without the club sitting down and discussing the matter formally.

Inter are still likely to offer the Dutchman a new deal rather than risk losing him on a free transfer at the end of his current contract.

However, on de Vrij’s part there is some annoyance that there is not greater urgency to settle the matter by the club.
