Inter have lined up Chelsea’s Trevoh Chalobah and Manchester City’s Nathan Ake among possible replacements for Milan Skriniar should the defender leave in the January transfer window.

This according to Italian news outlet Calciomercato.com, who report that the Premier League duo would be among the Nerazzurri’s main targets in the event that they decide to sell Skriniar.

Keeping hold of Skriniar and renewing his contract remains Inter’s first priority.

However, should contract talks with the 27-year-old and his representatives not take off, there is a chance that he could head into the January window without a new deal.

In this event, the Nerazzurri would be very wary of losing the defender on a free transfer when his current deal expires at the end of June 2023.

Accordingly, there would be a real possibility of selling Skriniar to Paris Saint-Germain in January rather than allowing this to happen.

If the Slovakian were to leave in January, Inter would want to move quickly to sign a defender to replace him.

The Nerazzurri’s sights could be set on the Premier League in this case, either to return for Chalobah who had already been a target during the summer transfer window just gone, or to move for City’s Ake.
