Inter-owned striker Sebastiano Esposito has found it increasingly difficult to get playing time on loan with Belgian side Anderlecht this season.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInter1908, who report that the 20-year-old looks to have fallen behind 16-year-old academy product Julien Duranville in the pecking order for the Belgian giants.

Esposito will have hoped that this season would see him take a further step forward within the senior game after signs of promise in previous loan spells with SPAL, Venezia, and then last season Basel.

The 20-year-old will have expected regular opportunities to play with the Belgian.

However, despite having gotten several appearances at the start of the campaign, coach Felice Mazzu does not appear to be convinced by Esposito.

So much so, in fact, that the coach started Duranville alongside Wolverhampton Wanderers-owned Fabio Silva in attack in the team’s most recent match against Mechelen.

Esposito was an unused substitute in that match.
