Barcelona midfielder Pedri feels that this evening’s Champions League group stage match against Inter has the significance of a final for his team.

Speaking to Amazon Prime, the 19-year-old made clear that the Blaugranas would not consider a draw an adequate result, and also predicted that the Nerazzurri will put in a stout defensive performance.

Inter are three points ahead of Barcelona after three matches from six played in the group due to winning last week’s encounter.

Therefore, a point would not be too bad of a result for the Nerazzurri on paper, whereas it would take Barcelona’s fate out of their own hands.

Accordingly, the Blaugranas could very well be the team with much more incentive to go for the jugular in this evening’s match.

This is the view of Pedri, who anticipates that his team will try and seize the initiative as they feel that three points is the only acceptable result from their perspective.

“I expect an Inter very who will be very focused in defense,” he said, “who will take to the pitch defending very deep, intending to try and stop us.”

“And I expect a Barcelona that has a lot of possession and moves it around well looking for space to hurt them.”

He noted that “It will be like a final for us and we have to try to win, a draw is not enough.”

“We have to be able to score a goal more than our opponents, that’s what matters for us.”
