Inter defender Milan Skriniar has no doubt that the team can get a result against Barcelona this evening.

Speaking to InterTV ahead of the match, the Slovakian made no secret of the fact that this will be a massively challenging match, but also expressed faith that the Nerazzurri can cope with it.

Inter managed to beat Barcelona last week, a massive result in their season in a match where they were not considered favourites.

However, facing the Blaugranas could be even tougher this time around, given that the match is at the San Siro.

Moreover, Barcelona know that they virtually need a win and a draw won’t do them a great deal of good, so they will throw everything at Inter.

Skriniar will wear the armband this evening with regular Nerazzurri captain Samir Handanovic on the bench.

The 27-year-old will be one of the players who has to produce his best quality if the Nerazzurri are told hold out.

He noted that “We certainly know what awaits us, it will be a very difficult match.”

“But I believe in this team and in the possibilities for us.”

He anticipated that “We’ll play a great match.”

“We have to defend deep together but we also have to attack with every single player,” he added. “I think we can hurt them.”

Asked how important staying united as a team will be, Skriniar responded “Certainly a great deal.”

“Our fans always support us, they’re very important.”

“We have to all be united, fighting for the same goal, that’s the only way we’ll win.”
