Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi feels that the team cannot afford to try and play for a draw against Barcelona in this evening’s Champions League clash.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, the coach stressed that the Nerazzurri must throw everything they have at the match to go for a win like against any opponent.

A draw could theoretically be enough for Inter tomorrow, as it would mean that they would retain the three-point advantage that they have over Barcelona after winning the reverse fixture.

However, hanging on with the mentality that a draw is good enough is always difficult, and it would not necessarily do justice to the quality that Inter have in their team.

As far as Inzaghi is concerned, the only thing for the team to do is fight for the win.

If the Nerazzurri throw what they have at the Blaugranas, then they will ultimately give themselves the best chance of getting the result that they want.

Asked if he’d take a draw, Inzaghi said “There’s no point saying that we’d take a result or not, every match must be played and we play to win.”

The coach continued that “We know that it will be a decisive match, and we’ll throw everything we have at it, while also respecting the quality of our opposition, like in the last match.”
