Inter could offer striker Edin Dzeko a contract extension at the end of the current season.

This according to Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it, who report that the Bosnian could be offered a new deal past the end of the campaign, although it would be at lower wages than what he currently earns.

Dzeko has had a major role to play this season by bridging the gap in attack during the lengthy injury absence of Romelu Lukaku.

The 36-year-old’s match-winning brace against Sassuolo over the weekend showed that he can still have his say in front of goal.

Dzeko’s current deal runs out at the end of June 2023.

However, the club could see him as valuable enough on the pitch that they would decide to offer him an extension, given his fairly consistent performances and goalscoring.

Dzeko currently earns €5.5 million net per season, and would not likely be offered this amount to renew.
