Inter striker Lautaro Martinez feels that facing Barcelona at the Camp Nou this evening will have a very intense atmosphere.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia ahead of the match, the 25-year-old compared the atmosphere at the Blaugranas’ stadium to playing in his home country of Argentina.

Inter had the home advantage the last time they met Barcelona, making the best of the passionate support of their fans to get a 1-0 win over the Blaugranas.

This time around, however, it will be a very different proposition.

The Nerazzurri must play in a hostile setting, and they can expect the Barcelona fans to be behind their team just as much as the San Siro had been theirs.

Martinez is anticipating that it will be quite an intense experience, but he feels that it is something that he’s prepared for.

The striker predicted that “The atmosphere will be similar to the ones that I experienced in Argentina.”

“These are good matches to play in, I especially enjoy it when the stadium is full.”

“As we said in the press conference, we’re not interested in refereeing,” he continued, “everything is fine for us.”

“Certainly tomorrow it will be important to win, we’ll need to play a match with intensity, hard work, and determination like we did in the reverse fixture.”

Regarding his recent goal drought, Martinez said that “I’m calm, I always give 100% on the pitch, sometimes I score and sometimes I don’t.”

“There are times when I seem to be able to score with my eyes closed and others when it won’t go it no matter what I do,” he continued.

“I try to put everything into perspective,” the Argentine said. “If I can’t score, I can help my teammates.”
