Inter will be trying to get an early goal so that they can really establish themselves in their Champions League clash with Barcelona this evening.
This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that the Nerazzurri are thinking of early aggression as an essential tactic to gain a foothold against such difficult opposition.
Inter have not had any luck on their last couple trips to the Camp Nou, losing Champions League clashes under both Luciano Spalletti and Antonio Conte.
In the most recent meeting, Conte did manage to guide the team to a halftime advantage, however.
In that match, the Nerazzurri had come out of the blocks aggressively and made life difficult for the Blaugranas.
Eventually, Barcelona erased Inter’s advantage and found the eventual winner as they showed all their quality in the second half.
However, the sense is that the first half performance was exactly what Inter will need to do this time around if they are to then have the foundations to build a result that they haven’t achieved in the recent past.
