Former Juventus coach Fabio Capello has said that the movement from Nicolo Barella for Inter’s first goal against Barcelona was perfect although Gerard Pique did help him, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media.

Speaking during an interview on Sky Sport Italia, via FCInternews, Fabio Capello spoke glowingly about the performance of Inter midfielder Nicolo Barella.

The Italian scored Inter’s first goal of the night which made it 1-1 after Ousmane Dembele had opened the scoring.

Nicolo Barella had ghosted in behind the Barcelona defence, particularly Gerard Pique, and was then picked out by Alessandro Bastoni.

He then took the ball down and fired into the roof of the net to get a deserved goal.

Speaking of the incident and Gerard Pique’s suspect defending, Fabio Capello said: “He controls excellently and shoots beating the goalkeeper. Perfect movement, Piquè helped him by being in the worst position for the Nerazzurri player’s shot.”

It was not all rosy for Inter though as the former England manager also talked about the poor defending for Ousmane Dembele’s opening goal.

“Dembelè’s goal, on the other hand, leaves something to be desired for the lack of attention in understanding the move.”
