Inter goalkeeper Andre Onana has confidently said that he was signed by Inter due to his maturity and experience in situations such as the game against Barcelona on Wednesday night, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media.

Speaking during an interview with Prime Video Sport after the match, via FCInternews, Andre Onana revealed part of why Inter worked so hard to bring him to the club on a free transfer from Ajax in the summer.

The Cameroonian was asked if the performance was a proof of maturity for him and he responded boldly by pointing out how much experience he has in the game and in the Champions League.

“Proof of maturity? Of course, they signed me for that. I’ve played more than three hundred games, I don’t lack experience so it bothers me a bit to hear people talk about inexperience.”

He then added that he is happy with the overall performance of the team in the 3-3 draw at Camp Nou.

“I’m happy with the team’s game, we did quite well defensively. I’m happy with everyone’s work, today the important thing was not to lose.”

Andre Onana appears to have now replaced Samir Handanovic as the number one goalkeeper at Inter in all competitions.
