Inter goalkeeper Andre Onana feels that the his fellow keeper Samir Handanovic is doing a lot for his growth at the Nerazzurri.
Speaking to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia after the Nerazzurri’s Champions League draw with Barcelona, the 26-year-old praised the Inter captain for how much he’s helped him out since joining.
Onana looks like he has grabbed the starting spot in goal at Inter a couple of months into his first season.
It did not all happen right away for the Cameroonian, but he looks to have the trust over Handanovic.
This does not mean that there is a rivalry between the two keepers, however, and Onana made clear that they are all rowing in the same direction.
Not only that, but Handanovic does a lot to help the 26-year-old settle in and find his best form in an Inter shirt.
“I talk with him a lot,” he said of the Nerazzurri captain and his fellow goalkeeper.
“Last week I played my first match in Serie A, and Samir gave me a lot of advice about the pitch, the opponents, and on how to approach different situations.”
Of the result against the Blaugranas, he said that “It’s not a win, but it’s an important point.”
“We took the lead three times but we were unable to bring it to home,” he continued.
“We’re happy with the work we’ve done.”
“In defense I tried to lead the game by pumping up everyone and giving support to my defenders, and to the whole team in general,” Onana continued.
“I’m satisfied because we made a great performance and would have deserved to win.”
