Inter striker Lautaro Martinez has explained that the move that led to the Nerazzurri’s final equalizer in their 3-3 draw with Barcelona is something that the team have worked out in training.

Speaking to Amazon Prime after the match, the Argentine talked about how the long ball routine from Andre Onana and his subsequent assist for Robin Gosens are a move that the team have practiced many times.

Inter capped off a memorable night at the Camp Nou with a goal from Gosens which made the scoreline 3-3.

The match had been a real roller coaster up to that point, and the Nerazzurri produced the quality needed to put it over the edge and grab a point.

Goalkeeper Onana pinged an excellent long ball which Martinez did well to control and hold up, and then the 25-year-old found the onrushing Gosens who finished very well to snatch the Nerazzurri a point and one foot in the knockouts.

“That’s something we work on,” Martinez explained, “Andre has a great long kick and then Robin did well to make the forward run.”

“Pique was a bit distracted as well, and so we scored.”

Of the match as a whole, the Argentine assessed that “We struggled a bit more at the beginning, the balls weren’t quite coming off.”
