Inter striker Lautaro Martinez showed that he is a quality player in more ways than one against Barcelona after embracing Kristjan Asllani at full-time, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, it was a huge night on Wednesday for Lautaro Martinez in more ways than one.

He finally broke his run of eight games without a goal for Inter as he netted the goal that made it 2-1 to the Nerazzurri. He also caused Barcelona issues all night.

He showed a different type of quality though when he embraced Kristjan Asllani at full-time when he really needed it.

The Albanian found himself through on goal with a chance to win the game at the death when he decided to shoot and saw the shot saved by Marce-Andre Ter Stegen.

He had Henrikh Mkhitaryan to his left in acres of space for a tap-in and after the game he looked distraught at having missed the chance to win and qualify.

Lautaro Martinez quickly embraced him and reassured him.
