Inter are expected to have a new main shirt sponsor by January but they must secure their place in the Champions League Round of 16 first, according to a report in the Italian print media today.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Nerazzurri intend to have a new primary shirt sponsor to replace Digitalbits as well as a new sleeve sponsor to bring in additional revenue.

The catch is that they need to ensure qualification to the Round of 16 of the Champions League before agreeing on a deal with possible sponsors.

Being in the latter stages of the elite club competition alters the amount Inter can charge for sponsorships as the exposure becomes much greater for the brands.

Inter are replacing Digitalbits due to a missed sponsorship payment that has not been rectified since it happened.

They need to beat Viktoria Plzen at San Siro in order to get into the Round of 16.
