Former Inter defender Daniele Adani feels that Inter showed Barcelona what it takes to get results in certain kinds of matches in their Champions League draw on Wednesday.
Speaking to Christian Vieri’s Twitch channel, as reported by FCInterNews, the former defender Praised the Nerazzurri’s performance and suggested that they showed where the weaknesses in Barcelona’s preparations were to be exploited.
Inter will never have expected that their away trip to the Camp Nou was going to be easy.
However, the team certainly didn’t let on any nervousness or intimidation in how they took to the pitch.
The match was a very memorable one, virtually end-to-end at times.
However, at the final whistle in a match where a draw was a useful result for Inter whose fate remains in their hands, and much less so for Barcelona, the Nerazzurri played the Blaugranas level.
“Without understanding the difficulties they were facing, the Nerazzurri would never have been able to get on top in the match in Barcelona,” Adani said.
“We saw many ingredients from them: quality, sacrifice, commitment, spectacle.”
“They gave a lesson to Barcelona,” he continued.
“I didn’t like how Xavi prepared the match, how the atmosphere was, the history of Barcelona shows that they often don’t prepare for a match as though it were a battle.”
