Inter have not lost any confidence in young midfielder Kristjan Asllani despite his error in front of goal against Barcelona in the Champions League.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the Albanian will start against Salernitana tomorrow and that he still has the full backing of everyone at the club.

Asllani came on as a substitute against Barcelona on Wednesday, and he found himself in very a good position to either score or square the ball in a counterattack late in the match.

Had the 20-year-old done either, then the Nerazzurri could have won the match 4-3, securing qualification for the knockouts, rather than drawing 3-3.

Nevertheless, Asllani has hardly been blamed for the error, which came in one of the highest-pressure moments in his young career.

Tomorrow in Serie A the 20-year-old is expected to start against Salernitana, where he will have yet another opportunity to build confidence and rhythm.
