Inter wingback Denzel Dumfries has praised his teammate Edin Dzeko as being a top-level player even despite his age.

Speaking to Dutch football podcast De Cor Podcast, as reported by FCInterNews, the 26-year-old also named Alexis Sanchez as the player who has impressed him the most in training as a Nerazzurri player.

Dumfries joined Inter just last summer, but has already gotten the chance to grow into the team and get to know a number of top players at the club.

Dzeko was one player who joined the Nerazzurri at the same time as Dumfries, and even though the Bosnian was already 35 when he joined from Roma, has shown his quality.

Dumfries was full of praise for the enduring quality that the former Roma striker can still bring.

“Edin Dzeko, regardless of his age, is on another level,” Dumfries said. “Some of the balls he can play are just ridiculous.”

He continued that “Arturo Vidal is someone who’s very strong in the challenge, it’s his way of ‘being Vidal.'”

“And then seeing Alexis Sanchez play just absurd, he was always the best in training.”

Of the help that Stefan de Vrij gave him in adjusting to Inter, Dumfries said that “I’m lucky to have him as a teammate.”

“I came to the club where he is at, and luckily we’re close.”

“Now in the locker room I sit next to Lukaku and Asllani,” he added.

Dumfries also spoke about a funny story from his very first day training with Inter, jokingly calling it “A total scandal.”

“I went from the hotel to the training centre,” the 26-year-old said, “and you know me, I’m a total professional.”

“And then when I arrived I looked in my bag and saw that I had brought two left boots, and I thought, ‘oh my god!'”
