Inter midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu has been named as one of the top ten creative midfielders in world football right now.
The UK news outlet FourFourTwo ranked the Nerazzurri midfielder at number eight on their list of the top ten playmakers in Europe right now.
Calhanoglu has been an important player since joining from AC Milan last summer.
The Turkish international has steadily grown his reputation as a creative player in either midfield or attack with the likes of Hamburg, Bayer Leverkusen, and the Rossoneri, whilst he has become captain of his national team this year.
Since joining Inter, the 28-year-old has transitioned more and more from an attacking midfield role to a box-to-box or mezzala one.
However, Calhanoglu has not lost his creative spark, and is vital to Inter in a playmaking sense.
FourFourTwo rank Manchester City’s Kevin de Bruyne as the number one playmaker in the world right now, with Paris Saint-Germain’s Lionel Messi behind him at number two.
Third on the list is Arsenal midfielder Martin Odegaard, and then Manchester United’s Christian Eriksen, the player who Calhanoglu replaced at Inter.
