Inter CEO Beppe Marotta feels that there is no question that the team must get back on track in Serie A after the start to the campaign that they’ve had.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, the Nerazzurri executive admitted that the team have underperformed relative to their stature and history as well as their objectives for the season so far.

Four points against Barcelona in the Champions League as well as a vital win against Sassuolo in the league between them have seen Inter get back on their feet somewhat after a poor start to the campaign.

However, there is no denying the fact that the first few weeks of the campaign were a rough period, and the position in the table still reflects that.

The Nerazzurri will have the chance to start picking up points, starting with tomorrow’s Serie A clash with Salernitana, and Marotta feels that it is necessary for them to do so after the start that they got off to.

“We must always try and get into the best position possible, and so clearly the current place in the table isn’t suitable for a club with the history and the ambitions of Inter.”

Marotta also spoke about the club’s faith in coach Simone Inzaghi, stating that “We’ve always had total faith in Simone Inzaghi and been calm about the situation.”
