Inter striker Lautaro Martinez feels that he and his teammates have found the right mindset to get back to winning ways after they hadn’t been doing enough to begin with.

Speaking to InterTV after the team’s 2-0 Serie A victory over Salernitana, the 25-year-old admitted that the team hadn’t quite had the ability to function as a team earlier in the campaign, but emphasized that they’ve found it once again.

Inter lost four matches from eight in the league to start of the campaign.

Clearly this was not good enough given the Nerazzurri status and ambitions.

However, two wins against Sassuolo and Salernitana as well as the massive statement of four points against Barcelona in the Champions League seem to see Inter back on track.

Martinez, for his part, feels that this is just the result of the Nerazzurri finding their team spirit once again.

There is still much work to be done, but in the striker’s view the whole team is ready to work together and fight for their goals.

“This has been an important week for us,” Martinez said.

“We have a lot of important matches on the way, and this was one of them.”

“After the performances against Barcelona we had to have the same kind of attitude,” the striker continued.

“Sometimes you can lost your team spirit, but I think we’ve rediscovered it, and we won.”

And of former Nerazzurri striker Diego Milito whose goal total for the club he’s now equalled, Martinez said that “I’ll certainly hear from him, we’ll go to dinner while he’s in Milan soon.”

“He’s a great guy who always gives me advice, and he still follows Inter closely.”
