Legendary former Nerazzurri goalkeeper Walter Zenga is confident in Inter striker Joaquin Correa’s abilities to succeed at the club if he is given the trust needed.

The former Inter goalkeeper published a video on his YouTube channel analyzing today’s 2-0 win in the Serie A against Salernitana where he among other things discussed Joaquin Correa’s importance to the Nerazzurri.

“I know him well because I managed him at Sampdoria. I want him to find consistency and self-confidence,” the former Catania manager said.

Walter Zenga, nicknamed the Spiderman during his illustrious career, hopes that Inter fans treat Joaquin Correa with the respect that he needs.

“I would like that the fans at the San Siro treat him how he needs to be treated. If he treated with confidence, [Correa] will repay that confidence.

“I say this because I know him and he has great qualities. If he loses confidence, everything will be lost,” concluded the former Inter goalkeeper.

Walter Zenga played with Inter from 1982-1994 and collected 473 appearances  in all competitions with the Nerazzurri.

During his time with Inter, he won one Serie A in 1988-89, one Supercoppa Italiana in 1989, 2 UEFA Cup in 1990-91 and 1993-94.

He was voted IFFHS Goalkeeper of the Year in 1989, 1990 and 1991. Following his playing career, he has several managerial tenures in Italy with  Catania, Palermo, Sampdoria and Crotone.

He has also managed abroad in MLS with New England Revolution and in Romania with Dinamo Bucharest and Steaua Bucharest.
