Atalanta head coach Gian Piero Gasperini feels that both Inter and Juventus are still Scudetto contenders despite their current place in the table.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Radio Anch’io Lo Sport, Gasperini gave the view that it won’t be long before the likes of the Nerazzurri and the Bianconeri are back in the title race.

Inter’s start to the season was hardly befitting a team that were among the main favourites for the title before the campaign began.

Two consecutive wins against Sassuolo and Salernitana have gotten them team back on track, but the twelve points dropped early on cast major doubts on the team’s title aspirations.

The Bianconeri, meanwhile, started off even worse, although a 1-0 win over city rivals Torino could have them back on track.

Gasperini’s Atalanta are behind only Napoli at the top of the table, and for his part expects both Inter and Juventus to be back in it soon enough.

“Having won in the derby is a good sign for the Bianconeri,” he said.

“I’m convinced that both Juve and Inter will soon be back in the fight for the top places in the league table,” he added.
