Former Nerazzurri coach and legendary former Juventus and Inter midfielder Marco Tardelli feels that Inter have found their identity once again.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Rai Radio, the former midfielder also gave the view that current Nerazzurri player Nicolo Barella has a similar playing style to himself during his playing days.

Inter secured their second Serie A win in a row by beating Salernitana 2-0 at the San Siro yesterday.

Barella was one of the players at the heart of it, and he capped off his display with a fine run and finish for the Nerazzurri’s second goal.

In truth, however, the entire team looked to be in good form in terms of their physicality, energy, and technical quality in possession.

Tardelli, for his part, was impressed with what he saw from the Nerazzurri.

“Inter have rediscovered themselves and have gotten players like Barella back to their best, he had to get back in form,” he said after the match.

“This is an Inter capable of managing difficult moments.”

He argued that “Marotta and the club have done very well, and Inzaghi will also have Lukaku back soon, even though the players playing in his place have been doing well, it will be very important for them to have the Belgian back.”

Tardelli spoke more about Barella, stating that “Barella is back, he’s excellent in both phases of the game.”

Asked if he considers himself to be similar to Barella, Tardelli said that “It’s tough to make comparisons, we’re similar, but also there are differences, and today’s football is very different.”

Tardelli also spoke about Nerazzurri captain Samir Handanovic’s being benched for Andre Onana, saying that “He saw that he’s not been in good form, and accepted going to the bench.”
