Inter are finally starting to see the real Nicolo Barella in midfield with his displays against the likes of Barcelona and Salernitana.

This is the view in today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who praise the 25-year-old for his composed, hard-running performances and well-taken goals against both the Blaugranas and the Granata.

Barella put in a real shift to help Inter play Barcelona even in the midfield battle in the Champions League last Wednesday.

Moreover, it was the 25-year-old’s smart run and even better control and finish that resulted in the Nerazzurri’s first equalizer in a back-and-forth match.

Against Salernitana yesterday, Barella scored a virtual carbon copy of that goal against Barcelona.

The former Cagliari midfielder showed just how hard his runs can be to mark, and his take-down of the ball in a scoring position was nearly exquisite.

Between these smartly-taken goals and the overall impact on matches, Barella has been showing why he has such a strong reputation, something which he had not always done earlier on in the campaign.
