Inter striker Lautaro Martinez was his team’s standout performer in yesterday’s Serie A victory over Salernitana according to Italian media.
Today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport gave the Argentine a 7.5/10 grade for his performance in the player ratings for the match in today’s print edition, also heaping praise on midfield duo Hakan Calhanoglu and Nicolo Barella.
Martinez’s goal drought now appears to be well behind him.
The 25-year-old follow up his goal against Barcelona during the week by opening up the scoring against Salernitana with a well-taken long-range effort.
In addition to his goal, Martinez’s usual work-rate set the tone for his team’s performance, and the Gazzetta deemed him to be the Nerazzurri’s best performer.
Meanwhile, excellent displays from Calhanoglu and Barella helped Inter dominate the midfield all match long.
For the Gazzetta, they were both worthy of 7/10 for their eye-catching performers, capped off with the former’s excellent assist for the latter’s even better goal.
