The agent of Inter striker Lautaro Martinez feels that the Argentine hardly had to prove that he’s back in form with his recent goals for the Nerazzurri.

Speaking to Italian news outlet FCInter1908, Martinez’s agent Alejandro Camano dismissed the notion that the 25-year-old had ever needed to “come back” and also made clear that the striker has Inter coach Simone Inzaghi’s complete support.

Martinez scored his second goal in as many matches against Salernitana in a 2-0 Serie A victory yesterday.

The Argentine had broken an eight-match goalscoring drought with the Nerazzurri in the team’s dramatic 3-3 draw against Barcelona in the Champions League last week.

Martinez’s performance and goal against the Blaugranas led to some suggestion that the “real” Lautaro was back, or that he had put poor form behind him.

However, the striker’s performances had not exactly dropped off even during his bad period in front of goal, and his workrate and commitment could hardly ever have been questioned.

When Martinez’s agent Camano was asked if the striker is back, he replied that “Lautaro isn’t back, Lautaro never went away.”

“He has always been a key player, his performances have never dropped off,” he continued.

Asked if he thinks that Martinez has become calmer now that Inter’s poor start to the season looks to be over, Camano replied that “Lautaro is a player who gives the team calmness.”

“He does it with Inter, he does it with Argentina,” he noted, “he’s a player who stirs up pride and emotion.”

And when he was asked if Inzaghi has trust in Martinez, Camano replied “Absolutely, the coach has lots of faith in him.”
