Former Inter striker Andre Pinamonti was happy with the decision to leave for Sassuolo in the summer.

Speaking to Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport in an interview published in today’s print edition, the Pinamonti’s agent Rafaela Pimenta spoke about the 23-year-old’s agent for the move.

Pinamonti had never quite been able to establish a place for himself at Inter.

However, the 23-year-old’s breakout loan spell with Empoli last season proved that in the right environment he could really thrive.

There was no shortage of transfer interest in Pinamonti in the summer transfer window based on his performances for Empoli.

However, the striker chose Sassuolo, with one of his primary motivations being that he would be very likely to get consistent playing time in an environment where he could continue to develop.

Pimenta, who has represented Pinamonti since his former agent Mino Raiola’s passing, summed up the player’s motivations.

“I liked how he approached this summer,” she said.

“I asked about his ambitions,” she explained. “And he didn’t say to me: I want to go to the Premier League, but rather he said: I want to go to a team that really wants me and gives me chances to play.”

Pimenta summarized the striker’s thinking as “I need to play and prove my worth.”

“He was happy when we finalized the move to Sassuolo,” she continued, “he had a bright smile, because he knew he would get playing time there.”

“He’s a very wise young man,” she said of the former Nerazzurri striker.
