There is little truth to the transfer rumours that had linked Inter striker Lautaro Martinez with German giants Bayern Munich.

This according to Sky Sport Italia transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio, who told German news outlet Wettfreunde.net that the 25-year-old has never been a target for Bayern despite some reported links.

Martinez has never been short of suitors among major European clubs.

Teams in La Liga and the Premier League have been linked with the Argentine for each of the past several transfer windows.

However, reports over the past few weeks have suggested that it may not just be these teams interested in Martinez, and that Bayern could be eyeing up a move.

According to Di Marzio, however, there is no serious interest from the Bavarians, whilst the player would not be keen on making such a move either.

“He’s not the kind of striker they need,” Di Marzio explained.

“They have Mane who is fairly similar to Lautaro.”

“Lautaro isn’t an out-and-out centre-forward,” Di Marzio.

He continued of Martinez that that “In recent matches he has shown that he plays better when he’s next to Lukaku or Dzeko.”

“He’s certainly a top player,” Di Marzio said, “but I don’t think he’s the right player for Bayern Munich.”

“And I don’t think Lautaro wants to go to the Bundesliga either,” he added.

Di Marzio noted that “I don’t even think he wants to leave Inter considering he recently extended his contract.”

“He’s very, very happy in Milan,” he said of the Argentine.

“I don’t think he wants to leave, but it’s too early to say what will happen in June,” Di Marzio made clear.

“Lautaro would like to play in the Premier League in the future, or in La Liga for Barcelona or Real Madrid.”

“I don’t think his dream is to play in the Bundesliga, to be honest.”
