Inter are likely to offer defender Stefan de Vrij a contract extension beyond the summer, while it is not clear what they will do with the situations of Matteo Darmian and Danilo D’Ambrosio.
This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the Nerazzurri will deal with the situations of the three players whose contracts expire at the end of June 2023 in due time.
Inter are beginning to consider what their squad will look like at the start of next season.
A number of players are currently in the final seasons of their deals, including players who are thirty or older.
In de Vrij’s case, it is very likely that the Dutchman will be offered a new deal.
It had been the plan for de Vrij’s contract situation to be discussed during the summer transfer window, but various factors delayed this past the end of the window.
Now, the thinking at the club is that the 30-year-old should be offered a new deal past the end of June 2023, although it is not clear whether an agreement will be reached.
Meanwhile, Darmian and D’Ambrosio are 32 and 34 respectively, although both still play regularly.
The club will decide whether to offer the pair new deals based on how things look later on in the campaign.
