Inter are not likely to extend the loan deal of defender Francesco Acerbi beyond the end of the current season.
This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the 34-year-old’s loan move from Lazio is not likely to be made into a permanent deal regardless of his performances on the pitch.
Acerbi joined Inter on loan from Lazio on the final day of the summer transfer window just gone.
The loan deal contains an option to purchase the defender permanently when the loan expires at the end of June 2023.
However, the Nerazzurri are not currently inclined towards exercising this options.
Acerbi has made his mark in the Nerazzurri’s team already this season, with a string of good performances at the heart of the back three.
However, the 34-year-old was primarily signed as defensive cover, and the priority will not be to make his deal a permanent one.
