Inter wingback Dalbert could return from his ligament injury sooner than expected, and may be able to leave the club in January.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that the Brazilian’s recovery looks to coming along well and that he could be ready to depart in the January transfer window.

Dalbert had been strongly expected to leave Inter during the summer transfer window just gone.

The Brazilian is not in the first team plans at the Nerazzurri, and his current contract expires at the end of June 2023.

However, an unfortunately-timed ligament injury meant that there was no chance of the 29-year-old finding a new club during the summer.

The worry had been that the injury was serious enough that not only would Dalbert not be able to move clubs in the summer, but also wouldn’t be able to do so in January.

However, a return now looks to be fairly close on the horizon for the former Nice wingback potentially.

If so, the player could depart Inter in January before the end of his current Inter contract.
