Inter striker Romelu Lukaku is fully recovered from his thigh injury, and is aiming to be on the bench for this weekend’s Serie A clash with Fiorentina.
This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the Belgian is hoping to already be part of the matchday squad for Saturday.
Lukaku has been determined to have fully recovered from the thigh flexor problem that had caused him to miss more than a month and a half for the Nerazzurri in tests yesterday.
This does not mean that the 29-year-old will be ready for an immediate return to the pitch.
Lukaku returns to full training today, and will be working to get his fitness levels up to where he can play.
A start against Fiorentina would not be at all probable, but Lukaku hopes to be fit enough to start on the bench.
Meanwhile, Edin Dzeko is favourite to start in attack against La Viola, although given that the Bosnian showed signs of fatigue against Salernitana over the weekend, it could instead be Joaquin Correa.
