Ex-Fiorentina & Nerazzurri Midfielder Borja Valero On Inter’s Clash With La Viola: “Fiorentina Always Turn Up Against The Big Teams”

Former Inter and Fiorentina midfielder Borja Valero feels that the Nerazzurri will not have an easy time in Saturday’s match between his two former Serie A sides.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Radio Bruno, Valero gave the view that La Viola always show their best when they’re up against the strongest opposition.

Based on the table, Inter should be considered favourites against Fiorentina, and this is also true when looking at the teams’ respective squads.

However, there is still no lack of quality in La Viola’s squad, whilst the Tuscans have proven themselves capable of playing an organized and physical style of play against virtually any opponent.

Inter will have memories of their trip to the Stadio Artemio Franchi last season, where they had to work hard to overturn a 1-0 deficit that had been a fair scoreline, and of their hard-fought draw with La Viola in May.

“In the match against Inter last season, the Nerazzurri had to overturn a deficit,” Valero noted.

“Fiorentina always turn up against big teams like that.”
