Francesco Acerbi is set to start at the heart of Inter’s defense against Fiorentina on Saturday, whilst Stefan de Vrij will return for next Wednesday’s Champions League clash with Viktoria Plzen.
This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that Nerazzurri coach will rotate between the pair between the two important matches.
Acerbi has already found a regular starting place for himself in the centre and also on the left of Inter’s back three since joining on loan from Lazio.
The 34-year-old started on the left in place of Alessandro Bastoni against Salernitana last weekend, playing alongside de Vrij who took up his customary central spot.
Against La Viola, Acerbi is set to start in his preferred central spot once again, with de Vrij dropping to the bench according to Tuttosport.
Meanwhile, de Vrij, who started both Inter’s Champions League matches against Barcelona, will be back in the team for their massive European match against Plzen.
